We will give you different samples for different situations. Feel free to mix and match words according to what you like or what your situation is. The best website for samples on invitation wording is www.verseit.com.

BASIC LAY OUT OF AN INVITATION SHOWING
BRIDE’S PARENTS HOSTING

GROOM’S PARENTS HOSTING

COUPLE HOSTING & CORNER COPY
The corner copy has your reception information and is placed on the bottom left-hand side of the invitation. The corner copy takes the place of a separate reception card.

FAMILY AFFAIR
EVERYONE WANTS THEIR NAME ON THE INVITATION AS HOSTS

DIVORCED PARENTS

There’s a rule that states don’t bring attention to divorce. Meaning, don’t put the names on the invitation. Using, along with their parents, is the best thing you can do. If you want to put your parent’s names on the invitation (can’t blame you) or are forced to (it happens), here’s an example of the bride’s divorced parents.

  • If you mom has kept your dad’s last name: Mrs. Elizabeth Duncan Smith
If your mom has dropped your dad’s last name: Mrs. Elizabeth Mary Duncan
